When Card Making Solves All Your Problems

Everything was on a blur. I just finished presented my report for the semester and the executive’s reaction shows that my presentation was wanting. They asked me so many questions and I failed to answer them all. I prepared for this. I worked very hard for this. But, it feels like I didn’t get what I deserve. I should have been graded as satisfactorily at least and not needs improvement. I did my assignment, my job. Why do things have to go this awful?

This was my mindset when I was preparing to go to a birthday party of a close friend of mine. My entire week and the other week was all pre-occupied by this presentation and now I am all bothered by the kilometric paper work that my boss assigned to me just so I could improve my report and present it again next week. I am already considering not to attend her birthday party since I have to prioritize my job again but then again I have already answered and agreed that I would go. I was all distraught and disoriented until I saw this ad about a home-based card making store near our neighborhood. It provides for a website that I have to log on and the ad claims that all my problems will be solved in no time.

I gave it a shot since I haven’t bought for a gift either. The website was very user-friendly. I even had fun choosing for the right design, the font and font color to be used and of course the message. It took me sometime before I was able to finish composing my message. I want everything to be as personalized as possible. When I was asked to review my work and recheck it for final revision, I was very impressed of what I did. It felt like that this card was very much unlike any other card. It is so beautiful and there is something about this card that makes it unique from other commercialized card available from the bookstores.

I clicked submit and entered the address of my friend. I also ticked the box that says urgent since it will be her birthday tomorrow and she is celebrating today. I paid for the card and went on to my friend’s party. I admit that I really enjoyed the night! It made me forget even temporarily all of my problems at work. When I went home, I was straight asleep. The next day, I was awaken by my friend who was so thankful of the card. She offered her assistance that day on my report. We finished early and we even had time to watch a movie.

Come Monday, my boss was surprised to see the improvement in my presentation and at the end of the day, I received not a satisfactory mark but an excellent grade. I am very happy and proud. I guess this would not happen if I didn’t try that home-based card making store.
